Pinched Nerve, Sciatica or Another Spine Problem?
Get Help from Our New Fellowship-Trained Spine Surgeon
Gregory Gebauer, MD, MS, has joined Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists as an orthopedic spine surgeon
specializing in pinched nerves/sciatica, stenosis, herniated disk, degenerative spine diseases, spinal fractures or
trauma, minimally invasive surgery, and motion preservation surgery.
ABOUT DR. GEBAUER
A graduate of the New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Gebauer received
advanced training at two of the world’s top-ranked institutions for
orthopedic care – completing a residency in orthopedics at Johns Hopkins
Medicine and a spine surgery fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University /
Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, where he trained with both orthopedic and
neurosurgical spine surgeons.
That dual training enables him to bring important perspective from both
disciplines to his work with patients. Before joining Murphy Wainer, he
spent 14 years as a well-respected spine surgeon in Florida, where he also
was one of the team physicians for the Tampa Bay Rays.
NEW SERVICE AT MURPHY WAINER
Dr. Gebauer adds a new dimension to the
services at Murphy Wainer. Patients with spine
issues were previously able to receive on-site
physical therapy and nonsurgical treatments
provided by Dr. Wesley Ibazebo, but had to be
referred elsewhere if surgery was needed.
“Now, if those treatments aren’t working and
patients may need surgery, I can help,” says Dr.
Gebauer. “Dr. Ibazebo and I can work together
to offer the full spectrum of care at Murphy
Wainer for patients with spinal conditions.”
SPECIALTIES AND SURGERIES
Dr. Gebauer treats a wide variety of spine, neck and back problems. He
enjoys working closely with patients, listening to their goals and
working together with them to create a treatment plan that helps them
return to the activities they enjoy. When surgery is needed, he performs
a variety of advanced procedures, including the latest minimally
invasive and motion preservation surgeries.
